There is a meet October 27 at the ES as well. There is a thread in this forum.
Hotel Information Update:
Here is a link for us to use to make reservations for this event at the discounted price. Click on this Embassy Suites. If it asks for a Group or User Name use "Head-Fi International Meet". The Password is "HFI". If anyone has any trouble report it to me.
I put this information in the first post.

Ok guys here's my word of commitment to the FL contingent: I will bring a bottle of premium Venezuelan rum for us to indulge in
PS. Venezuela has some of the best ranked premium rums in the world.

That will go well with the Lagavulin Single Malt and Pappy Van Winkle 23 Bourbon.

Woa just checked online, those are some premium elixirs! Well at least the rum category will have a good contender too

Just booked my room 5/2 to 5/4 using the website and the first time it said there was an error. I hit the back button and did it again and it worked fine. Remember, the room availability at the current price are limited.

Mike,
Does the hotel have any funky cancellation policies that you're aware of?

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of your arrival without penalty.

Man I just discovered that it's about a 10 hour drive for me to get down there. All I can say is this better be worth it.

Trust me, it will be worth it. Just read the impression threads from San Jose and New York.

There's simply nothing like it even in the rest of the audio world. Knowing what fun a normal South Florida meet is like, this thing is going to be WAY off the hook!

Voltron is right...there will be a hook and the meet will not be on it, the meet will be off it....very far off it.
The best part of Head-Fi meets isn't so much the gear (although that is kinda the point), but hanging with the people and talking about the gear and what-not. Come with a handful of things you absolutely want to hear and then just mingle and hang out. We're such a diverse group of folks... students, lawyers, doctors, steveio..... it'll be more than worth it.

Believe me, I have no doubts that it will be great and I will do my darndnest to be there. I'm just saying the 10 hour drive solo is really gonna suck. It would probably be cheaper to fly but then there would be no way for me to bring my computer stuff.

They'd better not cancel my funk!
I'm in.
EDIT: Plus, with my new job, I think I'll actually make it to sunny Fla this time.
