Man, this thread has only been up for 2 days and already the Florida folk are wasted.
I've got a feeling this one will be something special so I better start saving for a Florida vacation.

GREAAAATTT!!!
I'm planning to go back to the US next year probably in the 1st quarter, living in Orlando,FL for quite a while. If I make it I'll be able to attend the meet and I certainly will!
And if everything goes well, I won't have 106º fever as last year in San Jose and can show you Florida Crew some serious drinking, European(Portuguese) style!
As soon as I know more details about being in Florida next year, I'll let you guys know!
Manuel

It depends on the gear. What are you bringing? You can certainly box gear up (very carefully and yet easy to unpack and inspect for the TSA) and check your gear as luggage. That's a bit of a risk though, but doable.
You could also ask a Floridian to take shipment of your gear and bring it to the hotel. or you can contact the hotel and ask them about having gear shipped, will they hold it?..etc.
Or just bring a small rig easily packed in your carry-on.

if you do this make sure to get signature confirmation to protect you and whoever you are shipping it to...

Yes, I was thinking about just taking my Millett Hybrid Max, very doable size-wise, but would you have to clear it with the airline first? I know, and you all know what that is, but I would think it'd stymy the TSA inspectors.

Personally I put my money on Thrice (sorry (Nate) but I've seen that boy put down his fair share and then some mind erasers.
The reason for the 2 shot min is really the panelists while informative have been on their best behavior and we really want to see the real Shiznitz this time no politics no nicey nice just let it all hang out. Basically a steel cage match of headfi though no holds bar.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm working hard to get ready. Keeping myself on a strict diet. Chimay, Dogfishhead, some Rochefort....and whatever else is good at the local imbibery.

You have no idea... you should try to get to the Oct. meet. It's a reccommended warm-up. It's important to warm-up and know what your limits are so that when you pass them you are aware that you passed them.
On topic: I wasn't at the San Jose meet, but I heard great things about the K1000 room. Are there any plans to make a K1000 room?

It's never been a problem for me with portables and what not. I think just pack it up nice and neat and it should be fine. You could always pack it in your luggage wrapped in cloths and whatnot and then check that bag. Should be fine.

We are planning a few rooms depending on space available. It is our hope to have a K1000 room, a portable room and a computer as a source room. The portable room may be a hotel room. We haven't decided on the other two rooms.

Or an e-stat room. A quiet room for e-stats would be beneficial.
