beware, florida cabs can be very annoying. a few companies have a 15 dollar minimum charge policy that they never mention before its time to pay up. and then they ask you extra for luggage and other nonsensical charges. actually happened to a friend of mine so just a little word of caution in case anyone takes the cab.

I would bring it just in case but I don't believe it will be necessary. When you show up, give your username at the CanJam registration that will be set up and you're in. I will have more info as we get closer.
if you guys need any deckhands setting the place up or with organizational things in general let me know. just got my exam schedule and ill be free after thursday morning that week so i shall have time. and im in the area as well so thought id offer in case you still need more people to help out. being a math major im ok with numbers and i can lift heavy things up and thats about the limit of the things i can help out with. do not put me on food duty or around shiny toys because when you come back you might find that both are in my stomach!
just send me a pm mike or i can give you my number later on as we get closer to can jam in case you need any help.
good golly am i excited! i shall no longer be a canjam virgin!!!
Actually the first year was "The First (Inter)National Head-Fi Meet", or something of the like. Voltron called it Headfest, but we were having none of that so it's now CanJam.
Whoever gets it next year needs to call it Bob's World of Headphones, even if no-one named Bob is involved.

Not so fast, Sparky ... not just anyone can be a CanJam '08 groupie/roadie. First some qualifying questions, if you don't mind ...
Are you big, strong, and not overly smart?
Will you work long hours for a chance to listen to gear?
Can you get by on 3 hours sleep?
Do you revere Queen boomana?
Is a Hawaiian shirt suitable formal wear?
Does music rock your mortal soul?
Answer yes to 4 or more of the above, and you are on the "maybe the kid can help" list.
5 yesses gets you a free night sleeping on Lauderdale Beach, and
6=yes makes you automatic for the people. Just tell us how to reach you on Thurs before CJ '08 weekend, 'cause you are in the Florida Posse.

Well for one thing everyone realizes by now that when we say 12/2 we probably mean the entire weekend and possibly week centered around a few calm hours sitting in a room pretending to listen to all those wonderful toys. The rest of it is about the hardcore BSing, boozing, and schmoozing. Expect at least the first 5 pages of these impressions to be completely free of mentions of gear. We're having our own Fear and Loathing here people, and I don't really know if you should feel honored to be an observant of the insanity. Either way, the insanity goes on and we will record it in the best fragments we can manage. May God help us all.
I'm ripping off Flecom's image to give you all a visual guide to most of the members present. Something I usually wish for when reading an impressions thead:
Back row: Boomana (Vicky), Guss2 (Gary)& Xenia, Voltron (Al)
Middle: Mikhail, Hifihaxor (? sorry man), PsychoZX (Joe), * , Tyll, Melinda (no not with the cap, that's: ), Highlife (Dominic), Agile_one (Gene), MikeG, Tyrion (the other Mike), Nightwoundstime (me! Matt), WMcmanus (Wayne).
Front row: The providers of much slapstick comedy for the evening, Ray Samuels and Stevieo.
* Wayne's friend whose name I will not attempt to spell, since I only barely learned to pronounce it. I know you signed up man so drop me a PM and I'll name you properly.
