Let's try to focus on the fact we are having the meet in Florida instead of why we are not having it in Chicago.

Now your thinking. Come on Billy, hook up the kid. DUI penalties are tough down here. It's a worthwhile investment.

Nice use of Post 8000 Mike! (or was it 7999? ) CanJam will be an awesome meet and an even awesomer party with Team Florida at the helm. The location looks great, the weather will be amazing, the live music is a classic touch, and I can't wait to see Nate all snockered on the DIY panel...
Good luck, and I hope to see you all at the dry run in October. Well, of course it won't really be "dry" given that it is a Florida meet, but you get my point...

It was 8000 but then I deleted a post so I could still have post 8000 when I started a thread in the Members Lounge. I really think this year will be amazing as the past two were. I look forward to seeing you at the trial run.
Does Nate know that if he is the only one on the DIY panel he has to do 2 shots for each person that was supposed to be on the panel? I think we were looking for at least 5.

Mr. Slacker, there's no need to worry. I am a certified teacher and Santa is a professor with 22 separate degrees. We will provide you tutoring services, and if the government grant comes through on time, you could not only attend the meet, but be in the very first test group as we research our...uh...methodology. Now that's exciting! Note to Wayne: don't forget to pack the electrodes!
As for Chicago, I'll end the speculation here and now. At the risk of embarrassing all involved (though that's highly unlikely), the truth is that it was always supposed to be in Florida, and was simply a matter of confusion and caused by severe jet lag and a dislocation of senses. Don't you remember the thread from that weekend in San Jose?
A Confession: five months, no amp
Crikey,as Gene would say! Tyll's wearing lipstick! The boys simply mistook having visited Chicago with living in Chicago, and Matt from Shure's influence did not help matters at all. Once the annoucement was made, it was hard to unring that bell without creating more confusion. Thank god for tyrion! He simply shook it off, put it behind him, and assembled this top-notch team.
As for CanJam '08, we're still working on details with a focus on how to serve best the head-fi community. Why just today, I assembled a group of beautiful Russian women in white lab coats from the local Five Elements Acupuncture School in Miami to assist those suffering with tinnitus. And, as Mike and Wayne have said, more will be revealed.
And with all that out now, this is my 1500 post. (I couldn't let Mike get away with the only cool post number in this thread!)

Where else but a Florida Meet would you get hot Russian women attending wearing white lab coats? Wait, is that a buzzing in my ear? Could it be tinnitus? I hope I can hold out until May.

If you're serving Mind Erasers then I'd like to be on the panel

Don't worry we are trying to recruit Tina as our personal Mindbender maker for the meet and you are on the panel.

This is actually true. It's not a joke. No kidding, there will be some serious acupuncture going on!

Congrats, Vicki. You've certainly earned the title.

I'll moderate if I get 4 shots, minimum.
