I have the issue when using both the stock composite cable and after-market component cable, which are the only output types supported. I'll see if anyone has a Wii or a cable I can borrow. So far I haven't seen a cable that looks thick enough to look like a shielded cable.

As for my cable TV box, I have no problem when using 1 m long of audio cable I have lying around for component video. I then bought a 2 m long composite cable (same brand, higher range) and I got mild flicker some of the times.

I guess we can almost ascertain that it is RFI issue. The question is why and what. I am leaning towards it is the TV that is extremely susceptible to interference triggered by the poorly shielded Wii cable, since no one seems to have the same issue with Wii with the same bad cable and my cable TV box exhibits the same problem.
