are these things even worth any money? Like, I mean they're not classic comic books which appeal to a larger audience and probably rarer.

In good condition, 50s Playboys sell for $10-15 apiece (with a few notable exceptions- issue 1). 60s and 70s sell for between $5-10.

When I moved from the country back to the city 12 years ago, I left 40 or 50 issues from the '70's behind in the attic. I now wonder what became of them. The only issue I have now is a shrink-wrapped copy I purchased to save, of the John Lennon interview, published the month he was killed. I was actually reading that interview at the same time he was shot. Found out the next morning on my way to work.
