But don't worry, you can still get plenty nasty with a small tube amp. here's a clip of my tiny epiphone valve amp with a monster fuzz box attached to it - the Big Muff Pi. this will scare your children.
Man, I love the Small Stone... Sweet volume/wah, too. My Dunlop wah is a pain to engage/disengage. What kind of Epiphone amplifier is that?
Yep, a fender blues junior. And it does sound very nice indeed
I was surprised how much better it sounds even on clean. Makes the marshall amp feel like cheap junk. I have not had a chance to overdrive it yet... going to wait for people to leave the house haha
Only slight dissapointment is that it buzzes quite loudly even with no input and volume on minimum. Also, first time I heard the valves cooling down they make this ping noise, I thought oh **** what was that?? But all was well.
I went to a musician's flea market last weekend and got a great deal on a Pignose G40V all tube amp the the owner swapped out the stock 10" speaker for a MojoTone Alnico and some decent tubes!
Now I'm waiting for the 'like new' 12" stock Eminence/Fender 'stock' speaker from a Blues Jr that i won on ebay to get here so I can build an extension cab, and I just now scored a Boss ME-6 on ebay for $75

Nice! Congrats on a great amp.
The buzzing is fixable - just gotta figure out why it's buzzing.
I have an EJ Strat and a Vintage Fender Blues Jr re-issue. It has the Jensen Speaker upgrade and some different tubes I believe. I did not get the beat up version that they offer for $50.00 more. I figure I will let that happen naturally! LOL!
The tones I can get with that strat and Jr Combo are very impressive. SRV, That "EJ" Tone to Chuck Berry and back. Of course the pick-ups in the EJ are rather special and are wound to 50's specs in the bridge and neck and 60's specs in the middle pick up which always runs at 100% when on. Allows for some really cool tones right from the guitar.
I also do have a Boss Blue BD-2 I use sometimes that is a great pedal. Its got a simliar sound as a TS-9 but also can go much heavier for a rock sound as well.
I will post some pics when I get a chance. The amp is that Vintage Yellow Tweed. The EJ strat is 2 tone burst with a highly flamed neck. (easily the nicest Ive seen). I actually ordered 3 of them and picked the best sounding which luckily was the nicest looking as well.
It would have been tuff not to get this guitar on its looks alone but its all about tone baby!

I very sorry I sold it now, because the most amazing, creamy, overdrive tone I've ever heard came out of a vintage tweed '59 Fender Bandmaster. I bought (stole) it for $80.00 seven or eight years ago. Deals like that don't come along every day.
