Default Semi-Professional Camcorder Questions

I am helping run a university television station and videography service. We are due for new camcorders sometime this or next year. I am curious if anyone has extensive knowledge and or experience with camcorders. We do not really have a set budget, probably around 2k a camera. We can't broadcast in HD, but I see it has become a standard for high-end cameras. Low light performance is key, as well as reliability. Something that comes with XLR inputs would be key too.

Any opinions on what and when to buy?

2k with XLR? May be hard.

Never used one... but I'm impressed with the Panasonic HVX200. Seen a few examples and like what I've seen. It's P2 Media though. Will do HD.

Bet you could get that Beach Tech XLR converter box and that would solve that problem.

It's a hard time to be in television right now. I would definitely go HD and not SD.

It's over the 2k price though.

After doing some research, I think the Panasonic AG-DVX100B is the best choice.

We currently have beach-tech xlr adapters. I've had 2 break on me, so I haven't been thrilled with their performance.

Did not know that. I've always been around pretty good equipment, so I never picked one up.

I'm sure you'll be happy with the Panasonic
