I have a pair of Inov F-Lite 320 PK and they are amazing shoes. I bought them for Parkour, but they serve as great running shoes, as well as everyday shoes.
I love em.

i've been running with asics gel kayanos for the past 3 years now. very comfortable for me and they seem to be more durable than something like the gt-2100 line. i've been wanting to try nike shoes again but they're always too narrow for my feet.

Wow, dedicated parkour shoes. That's really interesting. How long have those held up for you? I had a pk stint and went through 2 pairs of shoes in 6 months.

Amazingly well actually, they've been my everyday shoe (with me doing Parkour every other day) and I've had them for about 4 months and they're holding up better than any other shoe I tried.
The sole is about 80% left. Plus it's non-marking so I haven't left any unwanted marks on any walls, which is nice.
Plus their so comfortable, it's about as close to barefoot you're going to get while still providing the protection needed for Parkour.

I have two pairs of Asics Gel Nimbus 9's which do me fine (had a pair of Gel Nimbus 6 that were comfy a couple of years before). Went to a specialist running shop and had my gait videoed to ensure I got the right shoes for me. Just need to use them more now.

Asics all the way. Gel 2130s now. Been through like an innumerable amount of asics since my good friend (and ex girlfriend, don't burn bridges my Dad says) made me try Ascis (I had been running with Nike before)
I want to try the Brooks Adrenaline, but Asics are always so dependable for me

How often do you guys go through running shoes?
My old nikes actually lasted me 2 years before they finally gave out. (Though for me that only means 3 or 4 seasons worth or running)

i guess what i'm asking...maybe its shoes? i mean i wear new balances...maybe these vivo's i think they're called are something i should look into? really i guess i should prob go to a podiatrist...but i dont know. what do you guys think? worth a try?

my shoes are toast after 300 miles although i generally try to eek out 50 more miles which is about half a year at this point (weather permitting).
that was a really interesting article. i have to say that my experience with my expensive "pronation correction" running shoes is not as depicted in the article. my knees were in such pain in the "made for big box stores" New Balance shoes i was wearing that i had to quit running. i currently wear Brooks Adrenaline GTS7 and i can truly run now.

wow 300 miles? I guess I really baby my shoes then because I used to do 3 mile daily runs for 2 seasons and then switched to alternating long and short runs 5 days a week. They must have given out around 400 or 450.
as for the standing issue:
I currently use the vibrams and would say that I could comfortably stand for a long long time in those.
