Here is a Cube that I sold recently. It had 1.2GHz processor card and upgraded HD and video card. Really nice machine, but I had to sell it because ipods work only with usb2 now.
I have only ibook, macbook, SE30 and Perfoma 460 now.
It's a thinkpad, and he is using an illegal copy of os-x hacked to run on it. That's a trackpoint, not a trackball, too.
I purchased a liscence of OSX through my school, so Apple has my money same as if someone was running on mac hardware (which is the same, as you know).
I am no lawyer, so I might be wrong, but this is my understanding from my research: what I did was merely disregard their EULA, which is not law. I can not be convicted on a criminal charge for this. Best they could do is maybe sue me for breaking a contract, which might rate a small fine.
Do you really think Apple would let the osx86 project still be up if they could do anything about it?

And if it is the hacking you are talking about being illegal, through emulating EFI v8 on the proper hardware, it is 100% possible to install using a non-hacked retail copy of the disk.

@Computerpro3. you yourself said that you broke there eula, and there contract. when you install the os, u must agree to their contract. as such, if you break it you can be charged/fined etc. it is illegal, but i dnt think apple will do anything about it.
