Thanks, I like it a lot so far! I think I'm pretty much done with buying headphones, but I'll upgrade the rest of the componments eventually (as soon as my wallet stops crying in a dark corner), starting with the source.
I can fully understand now when people say the OII are a bitch for power, I need to crank the T1S two or three notches more than the Lambda Signature to get the same volume level and the bass doesn't seem as focused as what I remember from the setup I had heard (CEC TL51XR -> SRM-717). The midrange is to die for though.
Based on specs alone, the 0404USB is no slouch at all. That said, if I had your rig, I'd also be upgrading the source first before the amp. Another option would be to buy a HE60 to replace the Lambda Signature Short of not having the as much bass as the Signature, the HE60 has it beaten. If you want bass, you got the SR-007 anyway.
If you haven't done so already, I would also play around with some other tubes since the SRM-T1S is pretty easy to bias. 6CG7/6FQ7s are also quite cheap and there are loads to choose from.
