I think I am going to wait until june for the rumored revision of the Macbook and Macbook pro.
I want one really bad, but I can wait because I wont REALLY need it until my fall semester starts.
But baby as soon as that comes out... mmmmhh im going to be mac'n it big time. Cant wait.
Same goes with the Iphone. Rumor has it Iphone with 3g + sum other stuff with be out around then. I plan to get that also as my palm treo is just clunky, outdated, and boring.

I'm hoping that Apple will let us use the Wireless Keyboard with it. But I guess if they were going to let us do that, they would've done it already.

Just make sure you have enough time to make using it like second nature before the semester starts. Sometimes they announce products at Macworld or WWDC but they're not available until later.

I've been using a Macbook Pro for quite some time now (upgraded from a HP running XP). Mac needs some getting used to, but, after a while you'd find it's much more convenient and prettier than XP and much easier to understand than Vista. Moreover, OSX tend not to slow down after long term usage, unlike Windows which cripples itself after a while. I still use XP sometimes since I need to run some windows-based applications, but even then, I'm still using the Macbook Pro.
The price gap between apple and PCs are getting smaller and (with regards to the macbook pro) you're getting extras like backlit keyboard, "iSight", many free applications and multi-touch track pad (which is essential to me now, don't know how I could have lived without it.) I love OSX's simplicity of use, although it's not as "customiserable" as Windows, you're basically immune to most viruses/spywares. Moreover there is always a utility somewhere to enable your mac to do what a Windows pc can.
I went mac and didn't look back. Try it, and you'll love it.
P.S. Just don't get it for gaming.
