I'd go with a fuji finepix. The quality easily rivals canons and sony's. Canon's tend to be more expensive, and I can't stand the delay on the shutter of some sony's.

Instead of starting my own thread, I'll ask here. Anyone here have the A570 IS?

I too am looking for a new Cam. I found this site and thought others here would like to read it. Recommended Cameras . He recommends Canon A560, it goes for about $130 on B&H Photo-Video. But I am thinking of getting the A570 IS , its the same as the A560 but with Image Stabilization and more Shooting Modes.

Man, wasn't that long ago we got an Olympus C-50Z for like 850USD. 5 megapixels was so ground breaking at the time o.O

I got a 2nd hand Olympus C770 Ultra Zoom for xmas, as it was recently discontinued. My dad had one so he knew it was a great camera.

Slowly learning the manual mode

Its only 4mp but zoom,quality,modes > mp i believe.

Its just a fantastic camera!

IF you can find one, they are around $200 (used of course, as they have been discontinued.)

The equivalent cameras (eg Olympus C770 replacment) are $750+
