My Missus bought a Notebook PC with Vista on it, no choice, and persevered with it for several weeks, then she just got so fed up with it that she formatted the hard drive and installed XP and even the bother of getting a bucketload of new drivers and several hours of reconfiguring stuff didnt deter her. She has never looked back.
From what I have heard Vista uptake has been disappointing and several corporate customers want to go back to XP.
Hm, I don΄t see a reason to step back to XP, unless you just can΄t get used to the little things that have been rearranged.
Corporate users, they should never be early adopters in the way of software.

I plan on sitting down with it and spending some time disabling things to see if I can at least get it running faster than my 733 MHz P3/Ubuntu machine, which might make it tolerable. I'm just glad that it's my parent's computer, not mine!
Slowness is indeed an issue and can be fixed by disabling a lot of useless services. There are quite a few that should never have been running in the first place, at least, not in a standard configuration. Constant chrashing -- is this Vista's fault or that of third party software? Mine hasn't chrashed at all. XP didn't either though, so I don't count that as a plus. The prompts when doing anything are a huge pain, but it's easy to turn them off.
It does take an hour or two to get it running smoothly, but it's worth it. Not that you can do many new things compared to XP though.... Vista isn't flawless at all, but in my opinion it's been given way too much hatred.
As for Ubuntu... I run a dual boot between Vista and Fedora, and occasionally Ubuntu. I'm working on a project which evolves around writing drivers for Linux distributions, but other than that, I hate it with a passion. Not really, but I can't go without Photoshop and a bunch of other stuff. Fedora and Ubuntu do run smooth though.
the offer is over as of 2pm dec 11th. MS got such a huge response that they had to pull the offer cause they ran out of software. lucky for those who got it

I'd just open up goatse, tubgirl, lemonparty, and 2g1c and let them monitor all they want (note: if you don't know what those are, do NOT google them. and I'm actually serious. don't.)
Well I google 2 girls 1 cup, From the reaction posted on you tube I was not sure what to expect
For those who want to know what it is without looking at the video.
Highlight to read It's a scat video and figured out the rest with the title
EDIT: Here the video of the reaction to 2g1c. Nothing graphic or disgusting is shown. Only a guy in front of a monitor reacting to 2g1c. We don't see the actual video.

Don't say that you weren't warned!
I've learned to be very wary of funny-sounding website names.

You can approximately replicate the sound of my stereo system by listening to your stereo system while wearing shooting muffs full of BBs and eating cheerios while stomping on a Speak-and-Spell.
