Also about the new Wengers, they are the same or worst, mine is from their last catalog, take a look here, this is mine $225 retail, not cheap for a quartz watch
Wengers reputation is a little shakey. The new Victorinox Swiss Army watches are being well reviewed in other forums. I'll have to take a look at the Pulsar watches. They sound great.
I have 4 different swiss army watches, one that was built in West Germany, 37 years ago. Guess what, I wear it every day and it still works perfectly. Don't tell ME they're not durable.

I bought a quartz Victorinox a little over 10 years ago. I wore it daily for years and still occasionally. It has a few scratches and wear (my fault) but it has held up and is still accurate after all that time. It is the only quartz watch I have left.
No to threadjack, but I'm wearing an unbranded mechanical from here these days:
I picked up their MP-2824 and put it on a black nylon NATO strap. The watch is accurate, understated and supremely comfortable.

Sorry you had bad luck. Mine is extremely well built. The stainless steel body is pretty thick and the watch feels heavy too. The leather band is also thick and tough. There is no plastic at all that is visiable. Perhaps they are getting better now with newer models. From what I've read, they generally get good reviews. You can do a search on the watch forums.
Also, Wenger is no longer a Swiss Army watch maker. The company that makes Swiss Army watches now is Victorinox since they bought Wenger. I would give the new Victorinox Swiss Army watch a chance. It's not Wenger anymore.
Lastly, the 3 year warranty is included with the new Victorinox Swiss Army watches.
Although Wenger were indeed acquired by Victorinox, the Wenger brand is still being produced.

I was looking that site and they have indeed very good offers, do you have any idea of those ETA movements how accurate they are, any rate like how many seconds a day...I'm asking as I'm used to quartz chronographs, and I will not trade accuracy just to have a few pretty wheels...honestly...My Pulsar is now hitting the second year on time, it is amazing how accurate those japanese movements can be...

Neutrality, accuracy? OK, just ask yourself first: Do you certainly know how the recording is supposed to sound? Sorry, but for me euphony is all about!!! Please do yourself a favor, stop listening your gear, and enjoy the music instead!!!

Maybe the ones made 37 years ago were more durable, it is not weird to me that a vintage item will last longer, and that is not the first case, see the amps made in the 70's and 80's...but the ones made nowadays are not that good, and I can tell YOU that, after owning three or four fo them...in all cases all original movements are dead now, except the last one gotten two months agom let's see for how long...
