Only thread you'll ever need for your LCD advice needs
I just picked up a Viewsonic VX2025vm myself, fantastic monitor. Performance exceeds the Dell 2007WFP by far. Too bad I had to get a used one since Viewsonic stopped manufacturing it o.O
Get an apple cinema display. Great looking, awesome picture.
Apple LCDs come precalibrated with more accurate settings than Dell, but otherwise you might as well get the equivalent Dell and save a bundle. IIRC the 20" and 30" from Dell and Apple use the same LG Philips S-IPS panel.
If my desk wasn't against a wall I'd love to have the FW900 If I tried to place it on my current desk there'd probably be no space for the keyboard =\
I've been very tempted since the used prices have been rock bottom lately. I'm in the same boat as well. I'd need to buy a new computer table. My Cintiq 21UX takes up enough room as it is.
Unfortunately, I can't stand the high pitched CRT whine. Not to mention the humongousness.
But, yeah. I've been tempted.

Yes - I have had two CRTs in the past few weeks - they both have the high pitched squeal. I am a firm believer in CRTs, but I am now frustrated enough to move to an LCD.
CRT guys, you need to have a serious (and unbiased) look at some of the latest offerings from respected LCD manufacturers. Sony has always had a fantastic rep for their higher end CRT monitors, but it's all over now.
You can keep loving them for all I care, hell I even understand why you would, but they are lagging behind... quite a way behind.
Manufacturers like Eizo are creating monitors than can reproduce the entire Adobe colour space in the right conditions. These same monitors also offer far sharper, more stable and more consistent image quality.
Disagree all you want - then at least go have a real look at some of the newest technology for your own benifit. It's awesome...

Care to mention any specifics? I have yet to see a LCD monitor that can compete with the 24in Sony. For that matter I still have yet to see a TV that can compete with my 34XBR960 tube tv. They are getting better, but are not there yet from what I have seen.
