Default Where do you purchase vinyl records?

Would you like to recommend some reliable online stores of vinyl records? It seems that the local stores have very limited collection despite of very good price.

Sorry, vinyl resources are top secret, I wouldn't want you snagging all the good ones!

Just kidding, what kind of music are you interested in purchasing?

Most of my vinyl I pick up at local shops. I have 4 shops that sell vinyl within 30 minutes of my house and work. I have 1 audio shop that sells nice quality vinyl with in walking distance of my office. I've picked a few albums on Audiogon as well. My next stop is going to be a thrift shop and a local flea market. I hear there are great deals to be found.

Looks like you'll have to move to NYC.

Reckless Records, Chicago.

Also Virgin occasionally.

I am fortunate to have a few local shops around to scrounge for good used LP's. For remastered stuff, www.acousticsounds.com is great. Expensive, but great.

Why at the record store right next to the Malt Shoppe down the street from Town Hall, of course.

For new stuff try

www.amusicdirect

or Tower Records

Plenty of reasonable used shops around the Chicago area. Thrift shops almost always have a pretty good supply and you can find some gems once in a while. Give the owners your name and number and ask them to call when they get new arrivals. If they know you are going to spend money they are pretty good about calling.
