Easy choice because of two words: Arthur Lee. The resignation and melancholy in his voice and words, well that album had a powerful effect on me.

And yet I never heard the song that's my favorite until I got the album. Butcher's Tale.
I've never heard the Love album. It's on my list of albums to buy. Unfortunately a long list.

My vote goes to Forever Changes. I have a re-release which contains bonus tracks that are studio re-takes. It shows what a perfectionist (and pain in th a**) Arthur Lee could be.

Forever Changes. Because it is more psychedelic than the Zombies. Both are great of course.
I'll throw in a third album: Iron Butterfly: In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. That drum solo got stuck in my head ever since I heard it.

Unless I'm mistaken you're speaking of the tracking session highlights on the Collector's Edition. That is the version to buy also for the fantastic alternate stereo mix of the album.
