Just recently i decided to get myself ozzy's back catalogue on cd,because i thought it would be rather nice to have them nicely re mastered
When i was listening to centre of eternity from bark at the moon it just didn't sound right at all,so i looked at the book and was horrified to learn that different musicians had re recorded the album....shocking!
Ok yes the cds do sound lovely and clean but the point is that its not original.
Guitar solos that sound completely different, new vocal tracks, and in the case of blizzard of ozz half the original musicians are nowhere in sight!
Ok make the sound fuller and cleaner but dont take away the musicians who made the songs sound great in the first place, but i guess it saves paying royalties.
I have no idea whose idea this was but it was a bad one.
I shall be sticking with my originals.

Well, you will also be shocked to find out that the 2002 remasters (the ones you have) sound like ass compared to the 1995 remasters (with the colored velvety borders and small original covers) and the original pressings. I had almost a whole set of the 2002 remasters to replace my 1995 set, and I ended up chucking the whole thing. In addition, Speak of the Devil, Just Say Ozzy, The Ultimate Sin, and Live and Loud are no longer in Ozzy's official catalog, so stock up while you can. Really, what happened to Ozzy's catalog is the Ultimate Sin (sorry, I had to )
Headphone Setup: HT Omega Claro -> Ebay Glass Toslink -> Zero DAC -> Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 RCA -> Dynalo -> Grado RS-1 *S/N 2760* w/Flats (Thank You Afrikane, You Are The Best!!!)
It seems that remastering can often be a waste, and letdown for the fan.
