Mozart or Beatles (cast your Vote)
Do you prefer majestic and sublime sonic eloquence of the classical genius or bubble-gum pop of tasteless hacks? (with apologies to DavidMahler) :-)

Hahahaha, I adore Pink Floyd, I adore the Beatles, I worship Mozart......I would never be upset....
If it was ABBA versus Mozart or Madonna versus the Beatles, then we'd have something to cry about

I think the Beatles are vastly overrated. I like their songs but they're nowhere near as emotionally involving as Mozart's works.

I'm probably the biggest Beatle fan I know in person. But comparing the Beatles to Mozart is like comparing.....
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to Shakespeare........
both great in their own way, but one is obviously more essential.....

Is like choosing between strawberries and oranges. You are not comparing apples to apples. Both are great but for different places and occasions.

I like the option to choose both of them.

Gonna have to go with the Beatles…haven't developed much of an emotional attachment to Mozart. I can hear how genius the music is, but it doesn't push me over the edge. I would've agonized more over Stravinsky.

Why is one obviously more essential? I've been listening to music for almost 40 years and it isn't obvious to me. Please explain yourself.
