Default British hip hop band WHO ARE THEY???

I'm trying to find out which band are behind these lyrics:

i'm not trying to control you... which is about one minute or less into the song. The song itself is structured very simply, with the singer speaking more than actually singing.

In the video, the guy is walking through these rooms... they look like preps or guys in a fraternity. NOT a love song.

I think it came out two or three years ago. It is definitely British AND hip-hop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Driving me mad!

The only British hip hop group I can think of is The Streets.

Yup like he said, its more than likely "The Streets" and im guessing the song is "Dry your eyes". Here's the crappy radio edit video....
YouTube - The Streets - Dry your eyes

Extremely talented and their first two albums got rave reviews across the board. Check out "A grand don't come for free" if you want to start somewhere. The songs on the album tell a story in order. Good stuff

Saw this thread too late. My first thought was The Streets as well. Great band..."Original Pirate Material" is my favorite album by them and IMHO their best. I was distinctly disappointed with their last album. I believe that they have a release scheduled for the near future...
