". . . Ziggy Stardust and the . . . ", and Moonage Daydream is the best rock n' roll song . . . ever (IMO) .

I'm a little annoyed with myself for giving the obvious answer, but I voted for Ziggy Stardust. I agonized over whether I should vote for Low.

Ultimately, I consider Low to be a brilliant new room in the house. Ziggy Stardust is one of the most lived-in rooms in the original house. Some of my favorite Bowie songs are on other albums, but this is the masterpiece in my opinion.

And I agree with ZombieDave about "Moonage Daydream." My personal favorite might run toward "Johnnie B. Good" or "Rock Box," but "Moonage" is something we can all agree on.

I'm not a big fan of his work, but Ziggy Stardust is a great album ideed. Space Oddity is awesome as well.

I'm the biggest bowie fan i know, and have been for more years than i can remember and this is just impossible to answer.
However if i had to pick 3 i'd choose these, not as the best but my favourites.
Station to station.
1 Outside.
Low.
None of these are in any order just ones that i love.
Mind you if i was being honest i would have put every album down!
In my opinion david is without a doubt the greatest of all time.
while my own favorite 3 would be ziggy, hunky dory and aladdin sane, you're the first i've seen who shares my love for 1 outside.

people, listen to this album. it's bowie's modern masterpiece, a breakthrough in musical storytelling, and includes some of his best songs in decades.

Got the red suede boots with steel tops from the glass spider tour, and the suit made special, not the real thing of course but pretty close, still wear the make up occasionally for special do's and get called weird, went to a wedding dressed as the duke 76era orange and blonde streaks at front and was told to leave lol.
I won't go on rofl.
Anyway 1 Outside is an absolute stonker of an album, loaded with killer tunes and lyrics to die for.
Eno is onboard for this one and cut-up techniques were heavily used for lyrics etc, much like how diamond dogs was written.
All in all imo it was his best work since monsters and to this day holds up as a corker.
Check out the motel, and the title track outside, its seriously classic bowie!
I love everything he has done and probably will till i die.
Seen the guy live more times than i can remember, the last time on the reality tour at wembley.
If it wasn't for that heart attack i'm sure we would have had a new album by now but as it stands at the moment i seriously doubt he will do anymore.
I hope that isn't the case though.
Prove me wrong david.....please!
Wow, you sound like a kindred soul. I even have BeyerDyanic headphones too. If you like "everything" he has done then you definitely take the fanboy award away from me. I will make sure to get that Outside album soon though as I have read before it is good.

What's with the two votes for Let's Dance and zero fro Diamond Dogs? DD is a great conceptual album with some great classic Bowie on it.

Hunky Dory is almost as good as Station to Station - I agonized over the choice between them for at least a second.

Totally agree. Aladdin Sane was easily my favorite Bowie album (*dimly remembers misspent youth, luckily no recollection of nail polish or hair colour...Platform boots, alas, are there *) and so as it's not on the poll I voted 'other'

I think I've decided on Hunky Dory, but really only because Station to Station isn't named. For some reason, this is the first poll where it feels weird going the "Other" route. Also wanted to add that I'm crazy about the tunes on Low ("Sound and Vision," "Be My Wife," "Breaking Glass"), but not the instrumentals.

Any Lodger fans out there?
