It was already selling for $170, I think. And it might have something to do with the launch of their new IEM, which would replace the RE0 as the new flagship IEM of Head-Direct/Hifiman. I'm not sure, though. They usually have nice sales, too.

Edit: the $170 was also with free shipping, it just popped up in my mind.

I am wondering if RE1's cable is also upgraded ? Are the new ones looking good...

The 99$ price tag for a pair of "HIGH-END IEM's" is really tempting though.

For those who ordered both RE0 and E5. Did you get them in separate shipments? I ordered both but only the headphones arrived.

Edit: Got a quick reply with an apology and tracking number for the E5. They'll have to arrive first but I agree with most people on here. Service is prompt and superb to say the least.
