New From PS Audio!!! A new Revolution in Digital Playback Technology.
Special Trade in deal until the end of Aug 31st.

PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC $2995
PS Audio Perfect Wave Transport $2995

More Details and an in depth look into the PerfectWave pieces can be found HERE

** Trade In Your CD/DVD Player or DAC and receive up to $1000 Credit toward each piece!!! or $1995 for each piece after trade-in value is determined!!!

If you could only purchase one of the two, which would you purchase, the transport or the DAC?

Tough Question. It really is system dependant. Do you have a stellar Transport or Dac already? If you’re going to do an all computer based scenario then the Dac for sure. If you have a massive cd collection and a great Dac then the Transport. But to really reap the benefits of High Res music which is starting to outcrop more and more you have to get both at some point I would say. Personally I would start with the Dac and then down the road get the Transport. I will have both for sure

Any thoughts on how to maximize the $1000 trade in since basically all you need is a DAC in working condition that initially listed for $1000 or more? It would be much better if they had a limited one time price like some of the Headphone manufacturer's do on the introduction rather than doing the trade in.

If the unit has a blue book value today at more than $1000, then I would try to sell it on Audiogon to maximize the value. If the Blue Book value is now lees than $1000 I would trade it in to get the max value.

Drew, have you had a chance to determine what, if any, sound signature the DAC has?

Also, for the trade in, can you trade in 2 DACs for 1 PWD? For example, could you trade in 2 DACs worth at least 1k each for a 2k discount on 1 PWD?

Sorry only single trade ins.

I had a chance to listen to it several times at CES and Rocky Mountain, but not on my own gear yet. I was very impressed, but can’t comment on the signature yet. I'm pretty confident that this will be my new reference piece. And that is saying a lot for me.

Thanks Drew. Does the DAC play nicely with iTunes and Apple Lossless?

I understand both the PWT and PWD required a cable connection to the network versus wireless. If your house isn't wired for a network, how are these pieces going to connect into the computer network?

For Itunes it would work like any other USB Dac. Once the Bridge card comes out they plan to have an interface like the Logtech Transporter has. Which will most likely read your iTunes library just like the SlimServer does with the Transporter.

I am pretty sure the Network Bridge is going to be wireless. But if not it is easy to add a wireless access point with a Dlink or Lynksys piece on the cheap.

Ps Audio has extended the deal through the end of June since there is a delay in getting them shipped out unit this month.

The Units were a huge hit at CanJam 2009. Will post some pics in a minute.
