About the XM4:
The XM4 builds on the success of the company's XM3 by adding Bass Boost, and an optional Lithium-Ion FastCharge system. The XM4's robust anodized aluminum case with glossy laser-anodized faceplate houses military-precision resistors, oversized electrolytic and tantalum capacitors, plus an ultra-low distortion gold-socketed amplification chip. Signal to noise ratio (SNR) is a staggering low 100dB, total harmonic distortion (THD) is rated at 0.002% THD, and overall frequency response is from 20Hz to 20kHz. The optional Lithium-Ion FastCharge system gives a healthy 40 hours of battery operation, while requiring only one hour of recharge time using the world-compatible AC adapter. Two front-panel LEDs (one blue, one amber) indicate power and status, and can be dimmed. A front bass boost button gives a +6dB boost at 100Hz, while another front button enables the rear panel's Crossfeed Adjuster, a knob that provides for output from near-stereo to 100% monophonic sound. The amp provides +13dB of gain, but an internal jumper can be user-configured to give an additional boost of +10dB (giving a total of +23dB), which allows the XM4 to effortlessly drive even very-high-impedence high-end headphones.
