See, now if you had the 25th anniversary SACD edition version (one of the best SACDs out there), besides hearing Sting breathing, you would have heard "chicks" instead of "checks"!

Doh! I ordered on the 18th (cleared on 19th), I'm afraid to bug headroom, since I'm still close enough to the cutoff that international dropped orders might get me in under the wire, and if I bug them they might just bump me down the list as a nuisance fee.

Yeah, Dee-Allan, I often apply one myself at my day-job , so I try
to be careful. I might break down and contact them. I can't look to you for sympathy though, your HD800 situation may be even more hopeless than mine. Dang it! And THOSE are the only phones I Know will synergize perfectly with my Zana Deux coming! I just can't break down and order a 650 NOW, with the HD800 already preordered .

Hi Larry,
Looks like you're in the top 7 on the list.
Cheers,

I see that it has <.02% distortion and LEMO plugs - can someone tell us exactly which LEMO plug, or are they just 'LEMO type' plugs?
Oy.

LOL! Well to be honest, I haven't heard that song since I was 13.... This should be a good test for the resolution power of the HD800!!

Even these old ears don't need the SACD to hear "chicks for free."

Couldn't stand the suspense. You guys are making me nervous. Had to call this morning to find my place in the lineup. Number 39! Ordered on Jan. 14, 10:38AM MST. Man, I hope HR's first batch is at least 40. If it's less, I'll be kicking myself for taking so long to make up my mind. After reading Tyll's and Jude's initial reports, I should've jumped!

Yeah, but if Tyll gets HD800 #0 then you need to hope he gets 41 of them in...

Groan, don't go there, HeadphoneAddict. With my luck . . .
I haven't read the entire thread on Jude's HD800 review (BTW, it must've set a new Head-Fi record for replies!) so I may be going over old ground, but am I correct in assuming that the 800 will pump new life into single-ended amps?
Can't wait for the first reviews on the 800, especially how they do in balanced setups; with different amps, DACs; with USB/coaxial/optical; with different sources; with different after-market cables; with different kinds of music; with different rigs. Comparisons with the current reference cans should be interesting, too.
Speaking of numbers -- again, apologies if this has already been discussed -- will each 800 be individually numbered? And will HR make an effort to keep the order sequence and serial numbers in sync, i.e., first order with the lowest SN and so on, when shipping begins? I'm assuming/hoping yes on both counts.
Man, this is like Christmas all over again -- in March!
Thanks, Santa Tyll.
