In stock?
So from the little reading I've been doing it sounds like there are actually unallocated pairs of HD800's available from vendors? I'm not necessarily in the market, but my impression was that if you weren't part of the pre-orders you were going to be out of luck until the fall.
It's great news that there are potentially pairs of these things available!

I believe HR do indeed still have some 'in stock' that can be purchased.

Two observations. The 800's are much heavier than I expected. The weird thing is, that they are heavy in the hand, but light as a feather on my head.
Interesting.
2nd, a Sennheiser logo is embedded in the dust guard. I would think that hump or any change in density might affect the sound.
They sound better than I could ever dream, right out of the box.
Time to re-visit the reference collection.
Thanks Tyll, and Co.

There seems to be a somewhat random distribution of serial numbers within the same shipment batch...

Wasn't there a movie about someone else having "666" on their head?
Ah yes, "The Omen". And we know how that turned out, don't we?

Alone in my room, lights off, tubes aglow and music flowing, I discovered something. No matter how much hi-end gear I put between the recording and my ears, its the music that moved me to tears. Less is always more.
