Expected HD800 availaibility is now LATE APRIL. To quote the Sennheiser dealer statement just received at HeadRoom:

No, but after being too quiet for too long, something was amiss. I just feel for HR, Todd and Drew who need the shipments to cash in on all the water they have been carrying for Sennheiser.
I'm fine - just gives me more time to finish and actually burn in the amp - well, and get connectors.

I bet it was the Japanese Alcantara. They take quite a while to raise from pups and have been in big demand with the rap star types.

Synthetic pups are the hardest to raise, I agree.

Considering the fact that you're an addict and your tolerance is built up, all that should only get you by for a week or so.

Late April? Awesome. Still in time for tax time sting.
Ooooo. It burns.....
I hope it means that they are just making sure they have larger numbers for launch rather than trickling them out.
Meanwhile, the longer Sennheiser takes, the more time people have to contemplate spending their money elsewhere. I was considering making a big ticket item purchase (over twice the cost of the HD800's). It would be much easier to make that purchase with having $1400 not spent on another pair of headphones.
Hmmm.
Decisions.

Alone in my room, lights off, tubes aglow and music flowing, I discovered something. No matter how much hi-end gear I put between the recording and my ears, its the music that moved me to tears. Less is always more.
