My goodness, people need to get some perspective here.
I doubt that Sennheiser is intentionally delaying the HD800 availability. What purpose could that possibly serve? Oh, never mind... that was intended as a rhetorical question.
I doubt that they could have any appreciation as to how many lives are hanging on the balance here! I mean, the gravity of this situation is obviously not clear enough to them!

No, Mr. McManus, it's you who needs to gain some perspective on this.
I mean, c'mon, try telling a crack addict that he needs to get a grip while he waits for his next fix! That's the severity of the situation!!!!

apparently, sennheiser outsourced production to the great Dr. Xin, flying him to germany for one week blocks to oversee and aid each headphone being built, unfortunately he has decided to go into development mode for the forseeable future, tweaking ring driver A, B, C, D throught to Z, and all order numbers will be worked through chronologically slowly but surely
but unfortunately this means each of you pre-orderers will receive random revisions of the main driver depending on which way the wind was blowing that day.

So far they are not delaying availability buuuut give it a week or two and then we can make those claims if the aren't released.
But all of this is just projection based on the fear of not getting our fix.

Can't be any worse than outsourcing production to Singlepower

Get it right. You have waited this long for a refresh. Another 2 months is bad but bearable. Good thing I can't afford one yet lol.

Don't mess with me man - I swear I'll jump...
Well, except I have (3) amps to build... all different, and only one related to the hd800.
I just thought an email would be nice, or to tell Tyll something... it is the distributors I feel bad for.

Will Headroom and or Tyll be bring the new Sennheiser HD800s to CanJam 2009?? I am also wondering if he will bring the discontinued Balanced Max Amps with him to CanJam as well so that I could hear the new Senns over the amp I already have to have an accurate audition of the sounds made. By the time CanJam rolls around there will have been plenty of HD800's dispersed. I imagine there will be more than one in attendance there for people to sample.

Why do you need him to bring a discontinued amp? All you need is a balanced amp with Max Modules in it to give comparable SQ to your Balanced Max. I'm sure Tyll can rustle something up by then...

Actually, I've been talking with Erik Palonen from Sennheiser and we're planning to do a room basically filled with HD800s and our new amp and DAC ...
...ooops, I've said too much.

Just to make sure I'm thinking what you're thinking, this would be the amp that comes in the same sized case as the DAC that doesn't exist yet?
