I think everyone should put their money where their mouth is. A dollar represents a vote. If a great number of people are displeased with Sennheiser's service then I implore you to negate voting for these business practices.
They advertise a release date, coax you into handing over your hard-earned money early and then they say, "Yea....., we might not be able to make good on that promise. We'll get back to ya later."
Just hold off for a couple of weeks to mess their initial profit figures. It's not like the HD800 is on a limited run.

Sennheiser's website still states ... "Available in March/April 2009".
It's not as if they are overdue yet (that will be in May).

Oh, come off it. If it was already April and no phones were delivered yet, then you would have a point. But it is still February, so there is a good chance of pre-orders being fulfilled in March.
I agree that the lack of communication regarding production and delivery status is annoying, but it's not like anyone has actually had their credit card charged yet. Therefore, how can anyone complain so much about something they haven't even paid for?
Don't get me wrong, I have the HD800's on pre-order and want them ASAP, but calling Sennheiser arrogant and weird just because a brand-new product may have slipped a few weeks doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. People just need to chill, methinks, even though that can sometimes be difficult when waiting for a new toy

Well i believe they said mid to end of February then changed it to the beginning of March....and i am not mad, i was going to give a smily back from earlier with the eek but couldn't get that window with more smilies to come up so i changed it because according to what they have been saying all along it should have either come last week or next week.
We'll see, and this way if we keep holding our money and if a catastrophe happens with us or the economy(worsens) in the mean time then they loose. They are the ones risking waiting as with every day people may have to pull out.

x2. Stop acting like spoiled little children! (I'm on a sitdown strike as I type this)
Seriously though, they will come. They are not even overdue yet.
Edit: No cards are even getting charged yet.

I think their lack of communication shows poor customer service... let's remember there was a bit of 'puffing' at CES about possibly shipping in February. I do NOT care one twitter if it does slip until April, just say something. We are NOT talking about a pair of SR-60 here - this is flagship, which MIGHT to SOME imply a wee better bit of service - and, an email would cost, 10 minutes to write, including Legal review.
Oh. and I'll be mellow when I'm dead

Yeah, and it's 3:30 a.m. I guess I'll sleep when I'm dead (never should of allowed myself to fall asleep on the couch at midnight, now I'm wide awake).
I was in the business for a while, a while back, and this is nothing usual for a higher end release. Companies have got to hype their products pre-release to raise interest and to get the 'zines and dealers motivated.
If we didn't know anything about CES, this would never be a problem. There are plenty of companies that take our money and make us wait for their builds.
Everyone will get their toys and the wait will seem like an infi-decimal pebble on a sandy beach a couple of years from now.

We've taken a poll down here in Houston Al, and we don't think so.

Current Head-Fi threat level is orange. Intelligence indicates a high risk of money being spent, but a specific target has not yet been identified.
