Default Desktop line level outputs

Thanks to Tyll and everyone.

As a recovering audiophile, I would like to avoid turning this into a hobby (again). That said, I'm thinking the Balanced Desktop with K701 (balanced equinox).

Tyll...I love the Desktop Audiophile System concept. If the Balanced Desktop had some line level outputs..DONE!...but no such luck...so I'm hesitating a bit. Any work around???

Sound signature I like...
I use to own Dunleavy SC4 speakers with B.A.T electronics. If you're familiar with that sound, maybe that info will help.

thanks again everyone

something I myself would like to see!

I would rather have outputs than inputs since more than likely if I had one a PC would be it's source.

*** Exactly my situation. Even in high end systems, CDPs as sources are on the way out imho. My high end speaker system buddies are selling their $10K Transport/DAC combos for SS's Transporter (with a tube mod of course . The writing is on the wall, it seems to me.

Digital inputs with analog outputs...pretty please.

Poor Tyll...can't please everyone!

Tyll...Using a Macbook Pro's optical out as a source, would you rather hear the K701 through the Balanced Desktop or the maxed SE Desktop???? You promote balanced rigs over SE rigs pretty heavily on your site, so don't you want the Balanced Desktop as an option with your new Desktop Audiophile System???

thanks...

noseallinit: Asheville! I went to high school in Hendersonville. I hear Asheville is awesome now.

Tell me about it. Create a category, build new products, then wait to find out where you haven't got it quite right (from youz guyz), and go back to the drawing board. It's a vicious circle!

yeah, then imagine a couple of those Desktop Speaker Amps designed to be easily converted over to Mono Blocks for a complete Balanced rig. q:O)

jaduffy how long has it been since you went to school in Hendersonville?

Asheville has grown quite a bit in the 12+ years I have been here. it was growing a good bit when I moved here and there are some things that were here in Asheville 12 years ago that are no longer and I miss immensley. I just dig the downtown scene and part of the reason I enjoyed moving here. I have not spent much time in it in awhile and I am gonna have to do something about that.

*** 28 years. wow. If there was some animation work in Asheville, I'd probably move there. So, San Francisco...here I come.

See, that's one of the sticky bits. Until we have a Desktop Balanced with volume controlled balanced outs, there's no justification to build a balanced in Mono-block Amp.

All in good time, my pretty.
