Default Power Supply Upgrade on Purchase - Redundancy Issue

A suggestion for HeadRoom:

I have serious misgivings about having to take the standard supply unit when at the same time you're purchasing a Micro Amp option, you're purchasing the Astrodyne Unit.

Does making a call eliminate this redundancy? The website doesn't offer an upgrade option, but simply the option to purchase the Astrodyne power supply separately.

The same should apply for the DPS. What if I purchase the Ultra Micro Stack and the DPS? Do I now have to purchase another power cable and also be stuck with the two stock PSU's that normally come with the MicroStack?

Upgrade packages really should be offered!

i was thinking about this....myabe a trade in value so you can at least sell off your old adapter for a new one.

Considering the DPS is 400$ atm....im not sure if many people find it worth the money over the astrodyne.

The Astrodyne comes as a highly recommended PS upgrade for the Ultra Micro Amp/DAC. It's a recommended upgraded for the standard Micro Amp/DAC. I'd think there should be two prices, i.e., the amp/
DAC with standard PSU vs the Amp/DAC with Astrodyne. Right now, you're getting both PSU's despite purchasing the Astrodyne at the same time you purchase the Amp/DAC. I don't get the rationale for this. Of course, there may be those who wish to have both, but then those individuals can purchase with standard PSU and then purchase the Astrodyne separately.

Between my MicroAmp, and Ultra Micro Stack, I now have 3 standard PSU's that I'm not interested in using. I do wish to get another Astrodyne for the Micro Amp for where I wish to use it, i.e., at work.

I wonder if I can get the three standard PSU's exchanged for an Astrodyne?

I think it'll be great to have the option to not get the stock PS if you buy an Astrodyne or DPS especially for international customers since they are extra weight which means higher shipping costs.

As an International customer, I am surprised I forgot about that, but you're absolutely right!

As of right now, the extra power supplies are imbedded into our admin system 'kits' and, as noted, are basically pre-packaged with every HeadRoom Micro & Desktop amp.

Regrettably, extracting the ps from the amp packages would prove time-consuming & potentially confusing for both our PRIMITIVE back-end accounting systems AND for our warehouse order-pulling folks.

We VERY soon hope to have more flexibility and be able to correct this issue with our new automated, sophisticated back-end systems that are going online late Spring / early Summer. Meanwhile, the extra PS are there, just in case they're ever needed!

Cheers,
Jorge
