A picture from the new Ultra Desktop DAC page.

But it wasn't me.
I didn't know we had a photo of it out there.
A guy over in the DAC thread discovered it.
Ivy posted the photo thinking no one would notice.

Wow, Good stuff Tyll! I think it's a very fair price point as well.

It uses Max modules.
And it's official now, here's the page.

DENON AH-D1001K
looks real good the new DAC. Now, if I could only sample it!!
I just purchased from Jeremy today Tyll, a pair of these Denons. Besides working w/Jerry Del Colliano at homethearereview.com, I`m the sound man at my church. We have a board, a Tascam recorder for the sermons and shows, and a Sony cd player.
I was going to go with the AKG 81DJs, but after reading about these 1001ks, I thought these were a better choice.
Though they cost more, it seemed worth the extra cost. Though, they will not be used for home use.
Tyll, what do you think? Did I make a good choice?

So no internal DAC option on the BUDA, eh? Is that for heat reasons, or to make more "synergistic" sense with the Ultra DAC?

Hello
Verry interesting news! I guess this will pair with the desktop power uspply? I wonder if the preamp output can be replaced with a balanced output as with the analog input? my poweramp accepts balanced input and it would be nice to make use of that. Will it also have the brightnes filter?
Thanks,
Interesting, no built-in dac.....
Greetings, Anouk,

Hi Tyll - so no 96/24 through USB in the new DAC?
If so, that's a huge bummer as I've been buying more and more hi-rez FLAC through Linn / HD Tracks, etc.

good job in having crossfeed!
afaik Headroom is the only manufacturer making a balanced amp available with it.
EDIT: wow, as well as the SE input and balanced output... all for an affordable price...
I see a bright future for Headroom !
