Default Lithium Ion 9V OK To Use In 2006 MicroDAC?

Are the "new" high capacity lithium rechargeables OK to use in the older 2006 MicroDAC? I'm currently using alkalines now but they go pretty quick...and the regular NiMH rechargeables don't seem to have enough life to be worth the effort. Just looking into portable options...thanks.

i used the latest version of the white with blue lettering ipower 500mah
lithium rechargeables(the smaller ones that actually fit) from thomas distributing with my 2005 micro dac/stack portables, and i had nothing but problems with these batteries with the stack (especially the dac) i wound up sending the stack back to headroom and they confirmed it was the batteries!
i had a total of 8 of the white ipowers 9vs with all the same results!
i wound up selling the dac and amp because of this!
