*** For all Head-Fi members in good standing, we would like to offer a 15% discount on a purchase of the B-Stock 9-volt 'Micro Stack' pair [amp + DAC] along with free FedEx Express shipping to any continental USA address. ***
Oh yeah, we'll nicely sweeten the pot here:

We only have 5 HR Micro Stack bags left so this offer is limited to the first five customers wanting the Stack bag & accessories ... Give us a call asap!
Cheers,

HR Sales/Product Manager
Hi Jorge,
First off I want to start by saying I love my Micro DAC. It is very open and transparent and warm and full sounding. It's the first portable DAC good enough to replace my iBasso D1.
We had several emails exchanged on 2/28, and I mentioned I wanted to order on the 29th to order before the 12 noon cutoff. You were busy but emailed me about 10am, so I called to order at 11am on the 29th when I woke up (my sleep apnea is killing my days), for delivery on the 1st. I didn't get to speak to you, so someone else helped me. I mentioned I was from Head-Fi.
I thought I was the first person to take advantage of the 2/28/08 sale, but I misread your post and when I looked at my CC statement online I didn't get the 15% off because I didn't buy a "pair". Oops, my fault, but 15% off both means I would have saved $89.70, and I would have done the pair for an extra $210 IF I had caught the mistake.
I also paid what I think was full price ($88) for the Microstack bag and Microstrap player platform, when I asked for the B-stock MicroBag that was $20 off. I somehow skimmed over the fact that I could have bought all three items with the pair, for $59. I have 600 threads I am subscribed to, and I had to learn to speed read, albeit poorly.
The price you offered on the 2/28/08 sale would have been $607.30 for everything, with over night shipping. I paid $427, and I didn't buy the amp or the extender strap that I could have had for ONLY $180.30 more!
I know my failure to read the details meant I missed out on all the savings, (and I am enjoying my DAC, bag and strap) but is there some way I could get the rest of the "package" for the $180.30 + cost of std shipping?
Thanks,
Larry G.

I'm sure we can work something out, Larry. Please shoot me an email Jorge@headphone.com and we'll arrange something satisfactory for you.
Hi Jorge, I am interested and actually just now sent a mail to sales@headphone.com. My main question is whats the difference between this 2006 model and the new model. Can I get the manual for these. Also, in your site I find that there is a Micro Amp and a Micro Portable amp. But, the dimensions of these 2 seems to be the same. So, what is the difference between them.
Thanks for the always helpful advice, JoelC87! ...
GoPinathr -- i sent you a copy of the old HeadRoom 9v Micro manuals via email [.PDF format] today.... Hopefully, you've received by now. Advise if any further questions!
Thanks Jorge for the manual. Did quite some research and decided that your desktop portable seems the perfect choice for me. Now, I better start saving a little more for that.
I was the one who messed up by not reading the fine details, so I appreciate the quick email response taking care of the rest of the order.
That's great customer service!
I wish more people would read threads like this. This is the reason why HR keeps earning my business year after year.

TPlease note that just because the new micros have essentially the same electronics as the Home and Max amps doesn't mean that they have equal sound quality. The Home and Max amps have significantly upgraded power supplies as well as fully decoupled dual mono signal paths on higher quality boards. The Micros are no slouches though trust me I have the new Micro and Micro DAC and they're an excellent pair.
I have the Micro Ultra Stack with the upgraded power supplies. From what I understand, this combination brings it almost identical in SQ to the Max.
After living with the Micro Ultra Stack, it's very, very difficult to listen to anything else. I plan on bringing them to Canjam if anyone is interested in listening. I'm sure HR will have a set there also.
Keep up the good work Tyll and Jorge. Look forward to seeing some of the hole plugs at CanJam

That's what I thought at first too but Sloth's impressions were that the Ultra stack even with the DPS still isn't the equivalent of the Max amp. Very good yes, but still not a Max. I trust Sloth too because he has done some pretty extensive testing with the HeadRoom modules. This is the link to the Modules discussion concerning the new Micro 2007 line.

I would agree with Sloth and Joelc87 .... The HeadRoom Ultra Micros are imho sonically very close to the HeadRoom Max Amp but keep in mind the big Max units have superior power supplies and a tiny bit better module topologies as indicated in the link above-- not to mention much broader interconnect input/output flexibility.
That said, the Ultras remain stunning audio performers given their size & price!
I already sold my iBasso D1 DAC/AMP now that I have the MicroStack setup.
I have a balanced HD600/650 APS V3 cable coming, and will try them right from my Apogee mini-DAC. The big decision will then be, is adding a HR desktop balanced amp ($998) going to be a significant improvement over the Apogee driving them?
I already have the XLR cables to connect the DAC to the AMP. Then there is the decision, do I add the $398 internal DAC, and will that beat the Apogee feeding the HR balanced amp?
Will it ever end? Geez!!!!
