Default HeadRoom 9-V Micro Amp & DAC Stack/ SPECIAL OFFER!

Hello Friendly Head-Fiers,

We have recently manufactured the very last batch of 9-volt battery-powered 'stand-alone' HeadRoom Micro DACs we'll likely ever make. There are about 20-25 Micro DACs available as of this writing and they're all brand-new units manufactured in January/February 2008. The wall-wart 120-volt linear AC power supply is included and the 2-year HeadRoom warranty service period remains intact.... However, as with all items on HeadRoom "A/B-Stock" clearance listings, please keep in mind there are no product returns or exchanges allowed and all 9-volt Micro DAC sales will be final (unless defective, of course! )

The dual 9-volt HR Micro DAC is not available via the HeadRoom/ Headphone.com website -- you'll have to call or email us to place an order for these. Please contact our friendly sales dudes (JEREMY at ext.100 or BEN at ext.105) if calling in your order or feel free shoot an email over to sales@headphone.com if any questions.

Price is $299usd, plus FedEX shipping cost.

Cheers,
Jorge
HR Sales/Product Manager

Oh yeah, we'll nicely sweeten the pot here:

The first five orders for the HR 'B-stock' Micro Stack pair can also receive the HeadRoom Micro Stack travel bag, the Micro Strap player platform, and the Micro Strap Stack extender for an additional $59usd upon request - a HeadRoom bag value of almost $130.

We only have 5 HR Micro Stack bags left so this offer is limited to the first five customers wanting the Stack bag & accessories ... Give us a call asap!

hey Jorge, what's up with this 2007 module? I thought the last upgrade was 2006. can you tell us more about it if it is an upgrade over the 2006 module? or did you mean 2006? has there been any thoughts at HeadRoom to offer a module upgrade for the 2006 MicroAmp?

OOPS, my bad Noseallinit... It is indeed the 2006 desktop module version in the "A/B-Stock' Micro Amps ... er, the years sure fly by here at HeadRoom!

Regrettably, there's not too much we can do to improve the 'desktop' electronics module design in the old 9v Micro Amps due to ps limitations, amongst other issues. That's precisely why we retooled the Micros to AC-power Class-A topology allowing for significantly improved audio performance.

Cheers,
Jorge

Default Interested in the Stack

Hi Jorge, I am interested and actually just now sent a mail to sales@headphone.com. My main question is whats the difference between this 2006 model and the new model. Can I get the manual for these. Also, in your site I find that there is a Micro Amp and a Micro Portable amp. But, the dimensions of these 2 seems to be the same. So, what is the difference between them.

The 07 Micro amp requires wal-wart to power and has no battery option. The new Micro Portable has a built in lithium rechargeable battery and an optional DAC in the same casing(not separate components).

Thanks mate. Would this difference affect the sound quality, if so, by how much. Also, wouldnt battery provide a better noise free current source than the wall wart.

The Portable Micro is about the equivalent of the 06 Micro stack maybe slightly less SQ but almost negligable. Thus it retails for the same. In comparison to the 07 Micro Stack(the non-portable ones) the SQ in these is significantly better partly due to completely new components and class A biasing such. The Micro's have the same circuit designs as the Home modules and Home DACs(I think) I know the Amps are the same not sure about the DACs. The Ultra Micros use the same components as the Max Modules, but are almost twice as expensive. Please note that just because the new micros have essentially the same electronics as the Home and Max amps doesn't mean that they have equal sound quality. The Home and Max amps have significantly upgraded power supplies as well as fully decoupled dual mono signal paths on higher quality boards. The Micros are no slouches though trust me I have the new Micro and Micro DAC and they're an excellent pair.

Also while the Portable might have a slightly cleaner noise floor due to the battery power the Micro Stack is plenty clean and I don't really hear noise until the volume nob is at least twice as high as my ears could take, and that's with IEMs too...with the Grado's there is no noise.
