I love my iQube, but I just wish it could drive more headphones too. Either way i'll probably give in and try v2 out sooner or later.

What headphones can it not drive? Gotta be able to move my Denon D5000s.

It drives the majority of headphones. Which is why I continue to love my iQube, but it does have a little trouble with higher impedance cans like the AKG 701's and HD650s (nearly have to max out the volume on the higher gain setting). Probably a trade-off for the amazing battery efficiency.
I use my iQube all the time with my Denon D7000's, so it should be good with your D5000's too.

This is a point that I think that we all like to hear. If anyone has the v2 iQube, can they weigh in and tell us how it fairs driving cans like the 701's and HD650's?

I don't think anyone has the V2. According to Hans, the V1 and V2 will have the same (existing) amplification section, so polling V1 owners should suffice. And for those who've checked in, thanks for the info. My D5000s will be in my stable for a long time.

I didn't have any trouble driving my K701's, but I don't use those for portable use (nor do I use the iQube in the office, so it's not a combo I use very often).

Would be very interesting to compare DAC in iQube and Pico.

Hey, that was what I wanted to know too. The iQube V2's DAC Vs Pico's. Since Pico will be coming out DAC only, and I already have the i-Qube. I'm badly in need of a good DAC!

For the first yes I guess it would be possible although hard to achieve, we will not support this.
For the second: no, it will not be incorporated at this moment. We are evaluating about dropping the analogue line in for an optical in at a later stage.

Yes! I vote for optical in !
I'm looking for a good combo amp/dac for my squeezebox which has coaxial/optical output.
If iQube has one of this input I will buy it for sure !

Latest update with respect to the development of the iQube V2.
First, I have to apologize for the long silence on my side! Sorry, but since I could not say anything valid I decided I’d rather say nothing.
Secondly: the introduction of the iQube V2 has been delayed until the 1st of May.
The reason for this is that Guido Tent (the developer) has had very difficult private circumstances and thus not being able to continue the development. His father is very ill and might not be around for long any more, so he invested time where he should and where we all would. I wish Guido a lot of strength in these hard times.
********
The V2 price has now definitively been set at 420 euro exc VAT, export price and 499 euro inc VAT European price.
The package of the iQube V2 will consist of:
- 1 iQube V2, included chargeable batteries
- 1 new specially for Qables designed Velcro/elastic strap (will fit any size)
- 1 mini USB cable
- 1 box
The high gloss white version will only come available in a Limited Edition of 50 pieces, price 445 euro ex VAT and 530 euro inc VAT. (The standard version is black/alu like the V1)
The US$ prices will only be fixed when we start sales because the $ is very volatile at present.
I hope to have created some more clearness and I apologize again.

Hello Hans,
While we all understand the delay of iQube2 it would still be good if you can provide updates, if any, on the development.
For me, I have high hopes on the iQube2 especially in regard to the clock management and implementation.

Hello, yes for countries where we have a local dealer you have to source it locally. Rgds and thanks for your interest.

This is the best proposal so far.
I love my iQube v1 and right now it's partnered with my iMod/caps combo.
After getting the Wadia iTransport for the new iPod Classic and a Benchmark DAC1, I am sold on the newfound SQ improvement.
Would have loved to find a way to partner the iQube v2 with the digital output from the iPod Classic/new Nano/iPhone etc that are no longer using the Wolfson DAC!
THAT IMHO would be an instant hit!
