No, no need to restart phone, the iPhone cables I am making today are "Plug and play". These are the SXC Cryo cables and the ALO UPOCC cable. You plug it in and wait about 1.5 sec and the audio will be directed to the line out cable. There will be a message asking if you want to turn the phone to airplane mode.

I have moved into the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch G2 system this year.

As well, I now have aux. inputs for the cars, which should work very well with a LOD.

Question : Will the iPhone specific LODs work fine with legacy iPods? (ipod 4 or 5) and gen 1 and 2 Nanos?

Thanks, my original cryo doc has served well for a good while, but is not working with the current gear, and I will need something a bit longer for the car.

Iphone LOD'll work with all ipod.
There is a new Iphone Lod (for car) on the Alo site.
