The New ALO Cryo SXC 18G larger iTouch cable, works with all ipods and the iPhone - Plug and play.

The wire I had custom made for ALO exclusively. Tuned for what I wanted to hear in a portable audiophile grade cable. The wire starts with unusually hight strand count Ohno continuous cast mono crystal copper stranded wire that I had them silver plate each strand, then the wire is in a extremely flexible Polyethylene (PE) clear jacket. I made this for 2 main reasons, one to protect the copper from future oxidation (a primarily cosmetic coloring of the wire), this happens to wire that is physically handled a lot in a portable cable and two to give the cable a "silver" sounding detail to it. Both items are a total success and after our testing (as well as other independent testing) we are very happy with the outcome. so woot!

I then took all this a step further by contracting Cryo-Parts to cryo treat my entire shipment of wire, all my mini plugs and even the ipod connectors. So the entire cable from tip to tip - Cryo Treated. By CryoParts Cryo Treated Audio Parts

Hope to get this and many other stuffs made with this wire up soon on the coming new ALO website.

Now that this has been announced, I can say that I have been testing a loaner 18g SXC LOD cable all week vs my own ALO Jumbo Cryo Silver X LOD and my own 22g ALO Cryo LOD. The ones I have are for iMod, but otherwise the same.

While the older LOD are great and I have raved here about the ALO Jumbo Cryo Silver X cables as being God's gift to audiophiles (I have 4 total of JCSX with various tips), I find the 18g SXC LOD even better - a touch more transparent and a touch more detailed. I can't more highly recommend one of these without being accused of being employed by ALO!

Buy one, now!

The new website should (I hope) later today and the cable will be up. The smaller "22 awg" version has a nickel plug, but again the ipod connector, wire and mini plugs have been cryoed by Lee at cryo-parts. This 22awg version will of course will be less expensive.

What's the total length in inch or cm of the Cryo SXC line iPod-LOD?
Are they longer than the normal ALO Cryo cable?
That would be not sooo good

That question of length is addressed in the ALO FAQ page on the website

5.5 inches tip to tip and is meant to fit a portable amp with the ipod on top of the amp (sandwich) not side by side. The ALO SXC comes with a pre bend "C" shape. If anyone wants to deviate from this length it is pretty simple and is not much more just email me.

With regards to your question of a lower price than the $85 Cryo dock, like all price reduction desires I really can not lower the prices and remain healthy and in business. I did lower the price of the Jumbo Cryo X Silver when I released this new cable. So instead of making the price of the new ALO SXC Cryo cable more than the Jumbo Cryo X Silver I went the other way with this by lowing the price if the Jumbo Cryo X Silver. I have made a substantial investment by contracting this company to custom make this wire which was spendy, I use the best parts and make everything by hand here in the USA. My philosophy is and will continue to be to make a low volume amount of really really good cables, made well, each one made like it was being made for me personally, with the absolute best stuff backed with a good policy to take care of the products. I will not compete with low cost makers from overseas because they will pummel me and my few workers.

I hope you understand were I am coming from here.
