Ah, very good. This was more of a home solution for me, but I can deal with more function

I can agree with some parts (there might be some durability issues, probably not if you were careful and didn't beat on it too much his solution should be fine) but I think that is a really good looking solution, and something that minimalist is about as seamless as you can make it unless you include a dedicated case that holds this and the iMod together. Though I can see where you are coming from as far as the RCA outputs. I think EFN has a very elegant and good looking solution, though I haven't seen yours so I'll wait to pass final judgment. I could be wrong and yours could look great, but it sounds like it might end up looking like you're carrying two amps instead of one.

Having seen Ken's previous handiwork, you can bet they will look sleek and gorgeous - and functional to the core too. I admit I am a big fan of Ken's handiwork and his ALO products did a lot to inspire my frugal DIY attempts.

Default Vcaps Back Ordered!

Hey Guys,

In prep for the production of these Portable units I placed a big order of more Vcaps from VHaudio and got this email from Chris

Quote:
Hello, Kenneth. I had an OEM clean me out these caps recently and have more in the production queue. I expect to have available the week of 9-17, but am trying to expedite even sooner. Please let me know if this causes any
problems.

Best regards,

Chris VenHaus

I am pushing him to get this quicker and hope that its sooner than 9-17. I do have a few here and can fill a few orders sooner than that but after that I am going to be tied down until I can get the caps.

Ken

Thanks, Ken, for the info. Will you be able to offer the enclosure + caps (sans cable) or even just the enclosure itself for those of us who would like to do some cap rolling?

No this will be a sealed enclosure. I am only going to offer one product and will make no deviations from this design. Sorry but I have to maximize the time I have and want to keep the price down and make as many as possible. The Vcaps are going to yield the best sound anyways. I have been getting a bunch of PMs and emails about the Portable Vcap dock which is awesome that people are so interested. However I need to get the situation with the caps taken care of before I run off taking orders so hold on for more information on the caps.

Thanks!

Ken
