Ken,
While this product is sweet, what I was hoping for was an iPod dock mounted on top of the metal box (that includes the caps, RCA jacks, etc.) so there would be no need to attach an external cable. In other words, the poor man's version of the fancy wood dock.

Hey Jim,
The integration of a "plug in dock", where you plug in the ipod just like the wood version is VERY difficult to do. You are talking about engineering a bunch of parts and making a difficult assembly and tricky soldering. In other words it would end up not being a poor mans version if I went that route. Moreover such a plug in dock would not be so portable.
I do agree that for pure audio quality it a much better way to go. The A/B wood Vcap Dock VS Portable Vcap dock proves this.
^Wow! Thats a beast ken, I'm sure people are going to be blown away from the sound. So here comes the Captain Obvious questions:
Will the Jumbo Dock Make a difference compared to the dock that comes with Portable V-dock? Should we take into consideration the quality of dock and mini 2 mini that we are going to purchase from you to use w/ the Portable Vcap?
