ALO Fidelity iPod Docking Stations
Introducing the new ALO Fidelity iPod Docks

We have been working on these for a long time now and will be releasing these beauties some time this week. These are geared for unobstructed sonic quality, form, beauty, and ultimate function. We start by using our Au/Ag 24K gold coated solid silver audio wire. The audio portion is point-to-point using this ultra high grade wiring by ALO. The Fidelity docks sport a mini audio out and a RCA audio out, and come with a linear power supply* for charging while listening. You can play your iPod all day and all night and never have to turn it off to charge it. The beautiful assorted wood blocks start as a solid brick of wood and are sculpted with a precision computer numeric controlled (CNC) machine. Then they are finished with a hard enamel coat. The docks are weighted from the inside so will stay put when your connecting them or using the ipod controls. As always we aim for the absolute finest audio signal possible, the signal goes straight from the line out dock to the RCA and Mini out right off the iPod connector pins with a fat ALO Au/Ag pipe. These docks sound just as good as they look. The ALO Fidelity iPod dock will fit your new 6G ipods, iTouch, Nanos, 5.5G, and 4G. We include a support shim for the 80gig 6G ipods. No more poor sounding boring plastic docks that look like something that should be in a hospital, pick up a ALO Fidelity iPod Dock while I can keep them in stock.
Ken @ ALO
*Power Supply included is a 110V US prong, Switcher PS for out side the USA optional.

Thanks.
$285 to $350 depending on the wood and it comes with a Power Supply (sorry 110V usa only at this time). These are going to be made in short numbers but I do have a small batch ready at this time. I also am going to bundle a nice 2 foot Mini to RCA cable for $135 more, or a 15 inch RCA IC (silver and Copper blend in a silk dielectric).

This may be a dodo-ish question, but I couldn't find the answer on your website, Ken.
Are these docks capable of supporting both normal and iMod iPods?
Thanks in advance.

Hey MM,
You are correct its not there. We are releasing the iMod version very soon so no this version does not support the iMod (there are no caps in the box).
Now the iMod version will use Auricaps, not the Vcaps. If you want a dock that has the Vcaps I do have the our Ultra Deluxe ALO wood docks on the website, look under "iMod" in the products section.
Hey thanks for the post,
Ken

I would think that the sound should stay almost the same as any line out dock, only more aesthetically pleasing to the eye for home stereo or headphone use.
Without the mod and the cap, you are removing the things that improve the sound.
The better wiring and high quality jacks should improve the signal, but it shouldn't be able to compete with a V-Dock. IMHO.

I really have not had time to A/B the 2 but have tested the Auricaps vs the larger Vcaps. And while the Auricap iMod is killer, as expected the Auricaps do not keep up with the Vcaps. Its like this----- Black Gate imod .... Sweet sound OMG!, Auricap iMod... AWESOME!!!!! and Vcap iMod....This is a ipod source? you have got to be kidding me, kind of stepping where one is nicely noticeably better than the other.
The Wood Vcap iMod docks also have the on off power switch, lamp and uses a larger more complex shell. I expect the smaller Auricap iMod docks to be more of a value for people. I only have 10 or so wood Vacp docks in the making and after these are gone I have no plans to continue to make them as they have already taken up way too much time.
Anyhow I should have a few Auricap iMod docks buttoned up tonight and will do some close listening.
