I've been looking for a good source to use with my computer for a long time now. I just received my M3 from MisterX yesterday. Is the headamp on the Zhalou better or upto par with the M3? Would I be better off buying a stock 1.3 and getting it fully modded from one of you guys? or Just wait and get the fully modded Zhalou with the headamp? or just get the DAC as it is right now and use it with M3? Thank you guys for any inputs.

I guess it is similar to the 1.3? Just as long as you don't drop it it will be OK?

Thanks! According to my handy-dandy metric to US converter, that translates into 9.46 in x 11.82 in x 2.17 in for all of my fellow inch-thinkers out there.

You for sure want to keep your M3...the headamp in Zhaolu is at cmoy quality...at least my pimeta bests it by some margin. so...M3 would walk all over it

There's the discrete headamp upgrade though, for what, $40 or so? The thing is awesome to say the least.

The 1.3's aren't available anymore, though...unless one of us with a 1.3 decides to sell it. If the 2.0 is an overall, noticable step up I'll probably sell mine. I figure there will be plenty of people out there interested in a 1.3.

If I just want the DAC capabilities out of the Zhalou, then is the 2.0 worth it? Also, what upgrades are worth spending cash for on the DAC?

it's impossible for us to say as no one has compared the two. i'd of course suggest you get both and let us know what you think there's certainly a good chance the upgraded zhaolu headamp could be better, but hard to say.

sure it's worth a try. upgrades? hard to say at this point. bumping up the dac to 4398 or 1794 might well be worth it. undoubtably the upgraded headamp would be worth it, but for some reason you don't seem to want that. at this point there are very few reviews in.

If I can just sell the M3, I can get the fully modded Zhalou with full headamp upgrade for less than what I sell the M3 for. So Im kind of confused if I should let a good amp go before trying out somthing else.
