Does that mean that if I were to later buy an upgrade from them, say, another dac board, that I would void my warranty by installing it?
BTW, thanks for the pics and impressions. I hope I don't sound like I doubt you, but I'm pretty excited that the Meridian didn't blow zhalou away!

Dude, I'm not trying to be a dick, I mean come on, have I not been one of the people who have wanted to scream from the rooftops "believe it! this thing kicks major ass" as much more than anybody? I'm glad for guy and I personally wouldn't be surprised at all if someone could find this DAC as good or better than some pretty expensive stuff. Anybody notice I don't own my Ack dAck! 2.0 anymore? How many times have I said I use the Zhaolu's discrete amp waaaay more than my Mapletree? There's $1400 of gear there I stopped using. I'm not being a dick I'm just hoping that people will take us as serious as possible so that more people can realize how fu#!ing awesome this thing is.

Sweet pics, man, and I'm glad you like it! I hope you see where I'm coming from and I don't question your judgement. Kudos you lucky bastard! You have the 4398, right? Did you hear the 1852? Was a little confused about that in your initial post.

That's the million dollar question. Doesn't make sense, does it? From what I gather the US dealer is trying to nail down that exact question because of those seals they will have on the unit.

I have CS4398..heard AD1852 on a demo machine, I was not impressed with the AD1852..but once again....the transport that was used with the AD1852 was a crappy PC DVD on the distributor's machine.

How much was the model you bought? Are there available upgrades like the 1.3? (reclocking, blackgates, etc)

I know that I'm the oddball in this sense, but I was wondering if you could give us a sense of how big and heavy the dac is? Loved the pictures.

of course your not being a dick, sean. i certainly wasn't saying you were. you've helped me with this stuff more than anyone else. appreciate your opinion. i'm just running out of things to say on the subject. perhaps i should just say nothing at all i'm just so damn finicky waiting to get my hands on one, waiting for more reviews, upgraded headamp, blah blah blah. i'm gonna go ballistic if i don't nab one soon
your damn right that people should stop with the "it can't be that good because it costs too little" arguments. we're dealing with a totally different economy.
