Default Zhaolu 2.0 ARRIVED!!! IMPRESSION INSIDE!

So I was on a biz trip to China..actually Shanghai and I thought I might as well pay the Shanghai distributor a visit. So I got to his place.....uh..actually its his house, he told me he is responsible for sending all units to the US distributor. Anway..long story short, while I was talking with him and he keep on telling me that he doesn't have any Zhaolu 2.0 on hand, a short msn message arrived. It must be my lucky day, because as soon as he saw that, he told me he got a shippment of Zhaolu 2.0, of which 4 are 110V with upgraded DAC.

I went with him to his storage facility..actually on the side of street in some alley way....uh..this sounds weird .....

Well..who cares about where I get the goods....went to a mall to pick up a 220/110v converter...got back to the hotel, borrowed a Sony DVD player as tranport...and here is the most important part HOW DOES THE THING SOUND?

MAGICAL! It is awsome to say the least, I only have my pimeta and Koss75 with me for the trip, but I was lucky enough to used that combination with the Eastsound I have at home at one time, and I do know what Dynahi and Koss sounds like

My first impression is...holy @#$@ this is better than Eastsound..actually quite a bit better. I am still breaking it in..but Zhaolu def surpass Eastsound in everyway. I was just listening to G08 at one of the shops in the mall where I got the voltage converter. And I must say...I prefer Zhaolu to G08...oh..man..this just sounds crazy!

Anyway...I don't know about the AD1852 (I tried it out at the distributor's house and I was not impressed with it )..I feel compare to CS4398..its a little dry and edgy...and not as musical....I will let it burn in more and when I get back home..oh boy..
Eastsound -> Zhaolu2.0 -> Dynahi -> HF1 == musical bliss

damn...2 more weeks. before I get home...I will try to get some photo up later..or eariler tomorrow...LMAO

More impression after 10hr breakin

Haha wow. That is quite a statement there. So, what are the specific options for that unit you listened to?

Standard version with 110V PS, CS4398 DAC, OP227 for headphone amp section. All caps are ELMA.

You only had access to the KSC-75 during your listening session right? Did you use the Zhaolu's headphone amplifier or your PIMETA?

Anyone have that link to the US distributor? It was deleted in that one post who was accused of trying to win a DAC for advertising.

actually..I listened to K501 with the distributor's zhaolu headphone amp ...standard version with crappy opamp for the headphone..and I was not impressed.....actually it sounded kinda crappy IMO.. I really hope the upgraded opamp does the trick.

The KSC75 I have was used with pimeta ... FYI

Ooh, I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Any idea what the amplifier was?
