I get most of my discs from either yourmusic or amazon. I have also gotten quite a few discs from other members here.

yourmusic and deepdiscount seems to be collecting the music and video funds. buy.com has a pretty good selection of SACD's at good prices. I got the ones I want from yourmusic already.

I found that most places charge too much shipping, especially Amazon. I use Half.com which is an ebay spin-off that specializes in music and books. It's a shopping cart sale, not an auction, and most sellers there are businesses. For each seller, shipping is set at 2.69 for the first CD, 1.25 per CD after that.

I have a wish list there and every so often I go buy 10 or 20 CDs, always from a few vendors to minimize shipping. I like Jazz and find good prices on limited production run items.

50/50 online (mostly amazon, and a lot of preordering new stuff from whatever site the band links to), and the other half is at local independent vinyl/cd stores.

First place I try is fopp, a discount CD chain store in the UK.

From there, it's usually the bigger chain stores like Virgin and HMV. There are exceptions of course. If I'm in central London, I like walking down Berwick Ave. off Oxford Street. Also, I was walking through Henley-on-Thames and found a cool store playing the Nuggets 2 box set! While the store specializes in vinyl, the had a few box set including a Soul Train anniversary set that I have but it way too scratched for a secure, accurate rip. Got it for half-off.
