I had purchased the DA100 partly because I thought it would be a great space saver too. The plan was to stack a Mapletree Ear+ on top that it but I now realise it wasn't such a great idea after all, as the Ear+ would obscure all of the ventilation holes on top of the DA100. Heat generated by the DA100 would have nowhere to go.
To those of you who recently received a Stello DA100 or have one coming, how many of you bought it from someplace other than directly from April Music? If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase it from (I'm looking at Head-Fi, Audiogon, eBay, and Yahoo! Auctions Japan daily, but I can't find anything)?

I keep it like this and asked APRIL music whether it will cause any harm. S100 power amp is very hor when it runs due to its discrete push-pull circuitry. Christine told me there is no problem after consulting their engineering staff.
I think best place to buy Stello is HIFI500 as you then have good customer service. Usually they respond to mails quickly, when that lady is around. They seems to be in the process of reorganizing the dealer network. First when I wanted to buy it they directed me to a UK dealer but the price was bit high there.
There is only one distributor for them (for USA), and thats how they are available. You are left with that price with bit steep shipping, but you are going to get it fast, with great warranty and nothing to complain about. The only other option is if someone somewhere puts up a used one, but with the performance of this thing that is EXTREMELY unlikely.

Now it reached 100 hours of burning! Its sound quality is very musical and refined. It drives music effortless and with very pleasant signature.
No doubt this is the best budget DAC even sub 1500$ and great value for money. Someone should compare this with Benchmark.
I think the sound quality is much better owing to its great power supply and post conversion filtering and discrete output. That kind of discrete output buffer can be found in high end amps like my GS-1!!!
oh my god!!
I didn't notice that there's a dealer in my country.
Ive just made an order this morning.
I just emailed hifi500 to cancel my order.
Do you think it's possble to cancel without being charged?
I paid via PayPal.

Just look for your local Stello dealer and contact them. I contacted one in Holland when I ordered mine but their price would've been higher than hifi500. I don't understand why you don't want to order straight from hifi500.

But why? You would probably get it faster through hifi500. Well I understand that some people prefer local dealers but I don't.
