I doubt there will be any for sale, unless someone is upgrading. It gives such good musical enjoyment and IMHO if somebody to upgrade, he has to spent fair amount to get not so much of improvement.
I love my DA100, as it is one of the best buys I had recently!

What about modded Zhaolu or Musiland?

Hmm...maybe I should give up on the DA100 then. What other DACs sound somewhat similar to the DA100?

I do not have experience on Zhaolu but there are very good reviews. Musiland has wealth of features and very good clarity and details. Only problem is its slightly bright sound. It can be corrected to an extent if you swap OPAMP with some laid back sound. LM5462 is the one I tried but there may be other more darker opamps too.

I've heard the stock Zhaolu and it was way too bright, and supposedly the Ori-modded Zhaolu retains this brightness. I don't want ANY hint of a bright sound as my headphones are the SA5000s, so I guess the Musiland is out.

Yeah! If you don't like coloured sound, the stello DA 100 is one of the best options. It has impressive bass response and I don't think there are very many options below 800$.

Well, a very nice Ack! dAck! 2.0 just appeared on the FS forum for a very intriguing price. I remember reading that the dAck! 2.0 has a warm sound signature that might go well with the SA5000.

I'm currently looking at either the dAck! 2.0 or the Apogee Mini-DAC. Don't both of these have a warm sound like the DA100?

I have kaushama's Modded MD-10 with SA5000s and LM4562. It is rarely harsh and bright at all. For me being a senn guy, it's bright. but if you like sa5000s I don't think it's a problem.

still, for DACs if you have the cash, DA100, lavry DA10, benchmark DAC1 are all going to be better than the musiland or great march probably. Or BelCanto3. Not sure if cash is a problem though. The Ori Zhalou is apparently amazing - I would've got it if it had USB on board and a headphone amp.

Can you be a little more specific, what exactly did you like in it ?
What is your system built from ,etc...

Congrats !

Furthermore,
did anyone here made a comparison of SB->DA100 Vs. USB->DA100 ?
If I will be getting the DA100 I wonder if it's worth keeping the SB3...

for those who use it via the USB, are you using ASIO4ALL ?

I came from work today , and this is what waited for me there :

So i started to open it :

What a nice baby looking on me

So what can I say about how this sounds ? Definitely more refined ,detailed and wider than Squeezbox's DAC . Each note received some own weight ,and it's easy noticed . However there is no WOW factor once you connected it . You just realize that this is much better then before , during listening sessions !

So this baby not going anywhere !! I really enjoy how it's sounds !!!

Congratulations.

Wow effect is very hard to achieve if you already have good equipment. Differences are easy to notice though. Happy listening.
