I do. They are like made for each other. Very good synergy with HD650 at least.

Thought now I bought new integrated amp (Bel Canto s300iu) to my speaker rig which has USB DAC so I'm selling my DA100. HP100 will probably stay for now.

Thanks, Patu. I guess I will be buying HP100 soon, the local store doesn't have one in stock right now. They say I have to wait for about 2-3 weeks.

And congrats on your new Bel Canto

Ditto! They also work great with the K 701 and the PROline 2500.

I have been using the DA-100 for about a year with a CIA VHP-2 and a VAC-1 setup. I can't say enough good things about this DAC [most have already been well documented in this thread]
So last month I decided how much nicer the DA100 would look mated to its twin HP100. Two days and about $7 small later, I found this combination made a SOLID improvement to my SA5K's sense of space, mids and bass performance. It actually caught me by surprise given the CIA's credentials. It's a credit to Stello's engineering talents and sonic vision. I highly recommend this dynamic duo not to mention its refined fashionable presentation...

the hp100 is often compared to the GS-1 or the gilmore lite in terms of sound - that they let the source shine through. i had the GS-1/da100 combo for awhile and loved it. it matched VERY well with the k701. a great combo for a sense of space, tight thumping bass, and clarity. the gs-1 didn't provide the lush midrange vocals that i like with jazz, however, but that's forgiven because it does so many other things so well.

The things that are important (to me) in my upstream audio component selection for headphones and speakers, are a default sense of space and concealed nature of the source. I have found when you have acheived this point, the rest easily falls into place. This translates into picking very "stimulating components" -read output power+dynamic- to drive my transducers. It gets me to 90% of where I want to be with the remaining 5% left to tweaks. (nothing is ever 100%- thats why we post :-) I found this Stello combination without a doubt, qualifies as stimulating.....

kugino likes Jazz?..... found Claire Martin yet?

Sounds intriguing, although w/o matching transport I2S is pretty much useless. The question is, how singnificant is the improvement in the "passive parts". Internals look almost the same, except the PCB color.
The Stello DA100 Signature DAC ($895) accepts an I2S output from the matching CDT transport ($695). There are many improvements in passive parts from the earlier version of the DA100.
Signature

and standard DA100
