Default Replacement/Universal IR volume control for Meridian 518? UPDATE!!

I was hoping someone, somewhere might shed some light on this subject.

After 2 unanswered emails from Merdian Inc....

I have a Meridian 518 processor that has a digital volume control. I purchased tee unit second hand without a remote.

Using Google has yielded little. Using eBAy I did find someone selling a Philips remote that was claimed to work with most Meridian CD players. He honestly claimed that he did not know if it would work with the 518. At $12 bucks with shipping, I took a chance.

Alas, it's a no go. Works great on my Theta Data CD transport though...

So, does anyone know what IR codes the Meridians 518 volume control is based on? Doesn't seem that it's Philips based.

All I wish for is volume up and down. Unit sounds incredible with the DAC wired straight to my amp.

Any clues or help would GREATLY be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Nick

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!

So, Meridian finally responded to a third email and sent me the chart of the Phillips based RC5 codes.

Now, how do I go about using those code? Universal remotes have lookup tables for specific manufactures. None that I have researched mention Meridian products.Learning remotes need the original remote to be programmed.

Are there any remotes that accept RC5 programming?
