I have a Pioneer 563A SACD player (Redbook, MP3s, CDRs about anything you throw at it). I use it mostly for SACD and transport to my Dac. I love this player and would love to keep it. It was modified by highly respected Alex Paychev APL Audio.
It has suddenly started to act weird. It will play a good portion of the cd I put in and then suddenly shut off. All connections are tight(the obvious). I do believe it is electronic related.
Does anyone think it could be repaired? Could it be something simple? Would anyone know someone in the Lakeland Fl. area that could do the job? I am 1/2 way between Orlando and Tampa.

I would think it could be repaired. It sounds more like a logic/processor problem than a laser problem, but its hard to say. It completely shuts off as in no power? Or just stops playing? Possible it is a power supply issue as well (dealing with heat perhaps).
